Ogoun's Bomb
(Pentland Hick)

STORY DESCRIPTION

Ogoun lives in Maronterre, a fictional country between Haiti and the Dominican Republic in Hispaniola: Voodoo country, where the Ogoun family are notorious on the black side.

Ogoun is planning a coup at the time of the Cuban missile crisis, and when Khrushchev is forced to pull his nuclear missiles out of Cuba the ships carrying them have to pass the next Island, Hispaniola. A plot is hatched and a missile dropped off on a raft.

Business magnate Charles Fairfax, in the middle of a troublesome late romance and a severe financial crisis, becomes involved in the coup and makes a very bad enemy in Ogoun, and this leads a 'Head of State' trip to London by Ogoun, represented by Fairfax's firm.

The Queen snubs Ogoun, who now considers himself a God, and he knows exactly what to do with the atom bomb, fashioned from the missile warhead, that waits aboard his private plane, and who will be blamed for bringing annihilation to London...
